Private Lodge Gathering Center:
The gathering center for this private lodge consists of: a great room with a working bar, a game room, a library, a walk-in wine cooler and tasting areas, a dining room, an observatory tower, an outdoor grill area, a commercial kitchen, covered porches and a porte cochere; all amounting to 11,400 square feet under roof. Kissling Architecture (Kissling) was brought into this project with the understanding that this center would need to be designed and built in time for the arrival of guests during hunting season. By pulling its team together, Kissling began work in January and the building was completed in September of the same year; just in time to usher in the hunting season. In addition to the tight time constraints, this project presented difficulties due to its remote location. Through careful planning and coordination and a good working relationship with the contractor, materials, fixtures, equipment and labor were brought to the site from various out of town destinations. If ever there was a project that demonstrated the potential of sheer determination, this is it.
