James Kissling, AIA, NCARB
Principal Architect

James’s ability to determine the appropriate solution is derived from over 30 years of experience in the architectural and construction industries. This vast knowledge base allows for the incorporation of elements and building systems that meet the client’s goals of cost, design aesthetic, energy efficiency, sustainability and function. His architectural design philosophy is driven by the natural attributes of the site and the man-made additions that impact its use. Each design is based on site specific information and is never a one-size-fits-all approach. In keeping with clients needs, he feels that each piece of architecture should be timeless and the final product a true collaboration between the client and the architect. Architecture is not meant to be a monument to the architect. James founded Kissling Architecture in March of 2000 and has specialized in custom residential, Ranch compounds, commercial infill projects, retail and hospitality architecture.
